Usually, lead roles are over-written while other characters are under. This is a rather unfortunate habit in Bollywood. So, when the secondary stars of a film manage to overshadow the leads, despite the poorly written roles, it's on us to show them a certain amount of respect. Compiled from Daily Social, here five supporting actors who managed to outshine the leads.
1. Sharman Joshi in '3 Idiots'
3 idiots is one of those films that is loved by everyone and one of the reasons for this is the amazing performance by its cast. Aamir Khan undoubtedly made his mark as Rancho and we don't want to take that away from him. B Sharman Joshi managed to impress many with his acting and truly owned the role of Raju. I think it's safe to say not many can forget his intense suicide scene and still remember him by the film.
2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in 'Talaash'
Talaash was a blessed with a stellar cast comprising Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan. With such big names, it is usually pretty difficult for any other actor to stand out. Nonetheless, Nawazuddin Siddiqui still managed to do so with his outstanding performance in the thriller.
3. Divya Dutta in 'Veer Zara'
Veer Zara was a story of two lovers and the focal point was no where near Divya Dutta's role. However, the actor still managed to get a lot of attention and went on to receive many nominations due to her excellence.
4. Konkona Sen Sharma in 'Omkara'
Omkara was obviously all about Saif Ali Khan. But his on-screen wife, Konkona Sen Sharma was equally, if not more, amazing in the film. Although the Wake Up Sid star had a pretty small role as compared to the rest of the cast, she was still able to make a big impact.
5. Deepak Dobriyal in 'Tanu Weds Manu'
Not many would have thought that Deepak's role as Pappi ji in Tanu Weds Manu had the potential to become so popoular. However, thanks to his finesse in acting, Pappi ji became a very important part of the story in the sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
