QUETTA: The National Party is ready to face any challenge in the upcoming general elections 2018, former federal minister says.
“An abrupt and suspicious emergence of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) ahead of the polls indicates that it will pose a major challenge to all political parties in the province during the upcoming general elections,” said National Party (NP) chief Senator Hasil Bizenjo during a press conference on Thursday.
He was flanked by former Balochistan Assembly speaker and NA-272 Gwadar-Lasbela candidate Aslam Bhootani.
Hasil Bizenjo said, “I want to assure the people of the province that the establishment formed BAP in haste and it will be purged from Balochistan soon because they can’t bear the blessing showered upon them by the hidden forces.”
He lambasted BAP and said, “In the elections, our party will fight hidden forces instead of political parties. The establishment is using BAP as their political weapon against other political parties, but their future will be like the Q-league.”
On achievements of his party in Balochistan, Hasil Bizenjo said, “In 2013 when we took charge of the province, law and order situation was completely out of control. The NP restored peace in Balochistan and brought development schemes and jobs for the youth.”
Independent candidate from NA-272, Khursheed Rind withdrew his nomination papers in favour of Aslam Bhootani and pledged his full support to Bhootani.
Bhootani vowed to end woes of the people of Gwadar and said, “After being elected by the people of NA-272 constituency, my first priority will be to end water crisis and electricity shortage in the port city.
“Gwadar is a vital part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, but is still deprived of basic facilities. Being an MNA, my responsibilities will be to become the voice of the people of Gwadar in the National Assembly.”
