Two sisters run over by oil tanker

FAISALABAD: Two sisters were crushed to death by an oil tanker in Faisalabad. The incident took place on Jhumra Road. Protesting against the incident, locals blocked the road and chanted slogans in protest.

A police official of Millat Town police station told Express News that Mian Habib and his two daughters, 10-year-old Nimra and three-year-old Areeba, were travelling to Mamoo Kanjan area in a Qingchi rickshaw. The three-wheeler flipped over while avoiding a collision with a motorcycle.



As a result, both Nimra and Areeba fell on the road and were run over by a passing oil tanker. The two sisters died immediately while Habib suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the oil tanker fled the scene.

Meanwhile, enraged locals gathered at the site and blocked the road in protest against the incident. They tried to set the oil tanker on fire, but a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and dispersed the protesters.
