Police recovers weapons, stolen vehicles from their possession

KARACHI: The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) claimed to have busted a gang of car lifters, arresting three of its members in a raid conducted in New Karachi.

According to ACLC officials, a team conducted a raid in New Karachi and took three gang members into custody and seized two cars from their possession. The arrested men were identified as Nadeem Abbas, Ahsan Ali and Azeem.

Following the initial investigation, the suspects pointed out two snatched cars parked in New Town and Taimuria. Police managed to recover both cars.

The suspects were associated with an interprovincial gang of car lifters and used to snatch and steal dozens of cars from different areas of the city, police said.

Separately, Rangers claimed to have arrested at least five suspects, including bandits and those possessing illegal weapons, in raids conducted in different parts of the city.

In one raid in Mehmoodabad, Rangers claimed to have arrested Kamran and recovered weapons from his possession. During raids in the Ferozabad and Brigade areas, the paramilitary force apprehended four suspects wanted in various robbery cases. They were identified as Tayyab, Arman, Riaz and Waqas. The Rangers claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession. The suspects were handed over to police for further legal formalities.
