ISLAMABAD: Youth in festive mood are known to ride bikes with silencers on the eve of the Eid creating a rumble as they enjoy a night out on the town’s street racing about.

The fun-filled thrill rides are however cumbersome for other people. The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has banned riding motorcycles without silencers on Eid.

A notification issued by the additional deputy commissioner on Monday said the activity was banned as motorcycle riders were likely to create public nuisance on the eve of Eid.

The activity has been banned under Section 144 of the CrPC. It will be effective from 14 to 18 June. Police would take action against the violators.
