KARACHI: The Commercial Attache at the Consulate General of Turkey in Karachi, Nail Ersoy has said that around 100 Pakistani businessmen are expected to participate in an international business summit titled “Foreign Trade Bridge” in June.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Ersoy said that the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (Tuskon), the largest and most widespread non-governmental organisation in the Turkish business community, is organising the event. Ersoy said that the three-day event is set to start in collaboration with the government from June 16 in Istanbul, in which delegations from 150 countries are expected to participate.

“It will help in creating new business-to-business opportunities, both in Turkey and Pakistan,” he said. “We will also share common experience of our business networks in international markets.” The diplomat said that Turkey has the 15th largest economy of the world and the sixth largest in the European Union with a gross domestic product of $663 billion in 2007.
