PESHAWAR: At least six teenagers were arrested on Sunday by University of Peshawar campus police for robbery and other illegal activities.

Deputy Director of Administration Gohar Rehman Gaddon said a 15-year-old hiding his face behind a mask was caught by the security guard early on Sunday morning while trying to enter the residence of a university professor. A follow up revealed that it was a case of robbery.

Gaddon said the campus police managed to apprehend five other teenagers through information provided by the 15-year-old. The youth are allegedly children of university officials.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, a university official said strict action should be taken against the children. He claimed 'influential' people were asking campus police to release the teenagers.

Gaddon told media that the university will be taking action against the teenagers. "They will b expelled from the university. We will not offer relaxation to children of university officials."
