Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor clarified her recent statements about Swara Bhaskar and stated that she was not defending the latter’s comments about Pakistan but was supporting a particular scene of hers from Veere Di Wedding. People all over Twitter have been criticising Swara for an overtly sexual scene that she was a part of in the film.
Taking to the social media platform, Sonam tweeted, “My defence has nothing to do with Swara’s comments on Pakistan. Get your facts right and stop spreading mischief.”
Earlier, the newly-wed actor explained that people just like to troll Swara because she has strong opinions. “I guess that shows how much they love her because the other side of hate is always love,” she added.
Speaking of the ban of Veere Di Wedding in Pakistan, Swara previously called Pakistan a “failing, non-secular state”. The actor received a lot of hate for her statements and was called a hypocrite. In India, viewers of the film called her out for her ‘daring’ scene.
Veere Di Wedding was banned in Pakistan due to vulgar language and obscene content.
