LAHORE: The employees of GOR-III Shadman on Friday continued their protest against forceful eviction from their homes. The protesters demanded of the authorities to take notice of the issue and stop demolishing their houses.

The protesters shouted slogans against the decision and demanded to revert it. They also shouted slogans against the government officers forcing them to leave their place. The authorities so far have demolished two houses. The protesters were of the view that they had been living at GOR for over 40 years. It was their third generation living in these houses. There are at least 24 houses and all of them belong to the employees of the colony.

A week ago, they were told by the authorities to evacuate their houses. One fine morning, a group of officers including police officials came outside their house and shouting to vacate the house in minutes, said a protester.
