Therefore, when news of Atif singing for upcoming Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 came forth, people got excited.
'Race 3' producers adamant on working with Atif Aslam, despite ban
But the rather oddly titled Selfish just released and well...it made us wish Atif had acted selfishly and kept the song to himself or something.

Penned by Salman himself, the lyrics of Selfish do not suit Atif's singing style one bit. I mean, "Aik baar, baby, selfish ho kay, apnay liye jeeyo na (Be selfish once and live for yourself)." Seriously?
Now Salman may have a huge fan following but maybe he's not cut out for writing. It's also clear that whatever Atif has done with the song isn't his forte exactly. Maybe a rapper like Badshaah or Honey Singh or even Mika Singh would have been able to do it justice.

Fans like me had high hopes from this collaboration. Alas, they were all put to flames as Selfish turned out to be worse than Kick's Yaar Na Milay.
Ban Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for being Pakistanis, says Bollywood singer
Maybe this is why some agents on either side of the Pakistan-India border want to put an end to cross-border collaborations forever...
