Sridevi, first female superstar of Bollywood, dies of cardiac arrest
On May 16, the prestigious Film Festival will be celebrating women from the entertainment industry all across the globe and honour the multicultural impact their films have left.
Sridevi was one of the biggest stars of India. She will be honoured with the Icon Award along with an evening that reminisces some of her best performances of all time. The celebration has been organised keeping in mind that the Mr India actor was a symbol of inspiration and achievement for women across the world.
The late actor's husband, Boney Kapoor said, "Janhvi, Khushi (the couple's daughters) and I are overwhelmed with the recognition and tributes, and the love of millions of her fans being showered on her. Her work and life has touched so many hearts across the world and she has been an inspiration to millions. She will live forever, thanks to her body of work."
Earlier, Sridevi was also honoured with the Best Actress award at the 65th National Film Awards, for her performance in Mom. Her daughters and husband accepted the accolade.

Sridevi passed away at the age of 54 on February 25, 2018. The late actor drowned in a bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai, while she was in the city to attend a family wedding.
