ISLAMABAD: The employees of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) schools and colleges in Islamabad are on strike over non-allocation of housing allowance, decrease in gratuity fund and other issues. Hundreds of teaching and non-teaching employees of OPF Girls College, and OPF Boys College, boycotted their duties and protested against the OPF schools for not giving allowances and benefits despite the approval of its board.

They said the OPF Board of Governors had approved 15 per cent house rent and gratuity fund up to 2.5 per cent but instead they observed and increase of only one per cent in the gratuity fund and no house rent whatsoever. They demanded the increase of the gratuity fund to 2.5 percent, house rent to 15 percent and a health allowance too. They also asked the management to give benefits to the female teachers from the date of appointment which was between 2007- 2008.
