SIALKOT: Vietnam Ambassador Pham Hong Kim has said that Vietnam and Pakistan are actively considering signing a free trade agreement to boost bilateral trade. Speaking to members of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Monday, the envoy revealed that the two sides would soon kick off negotiations for opening up trade. In his welcome address, SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik suggested that in order to promote business-to-business linkages the embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan may facilitate signing of agreements between chambers of the two countries. He highlighted that the bilateral trade volume stood at around $610 million with the balance in favour of Vietnam.
