Another child and a woman in the van miraculously manage to escape unhurt

ABBOTTABAD: At least 10 people have been killed while six others injured when a loaded goods truck collided with a passenger van in Abbottabad.

The truck en route Rawalpindi hit the Mansehra bound van at a sharp turn near Sabzi Mandi.

Rescue services managed to recover the bodies of the victims by cutting open the van's structure. Three of the injured were shifted to district Headquarter Hospital Abbottabad, where their condition is stated to be critical.

The rest of the injured have been admitted to Ayub Teaching Hospital Complex. Miraculously, another child and a woman in the van managed to escape unhurt.

Speeding: Two killed in road accidents

The deceased have been identified as Shoukat, Sameen Bibi, Danish Muneer Khan, Jamshed, Muhammad Nazeer, and Bedar Bakhat, while the rest are yet to be identified.

Separately, a car fell into a ravine near Ghea area on the Abbottabad-Nathiagali Road in which three people including a married couple were killed.

Eyewitnesses say that the driver parked the car on a roadside after a fault occurred in the vehicle. Subsequently, he came out of the vehicle with the car's engine still on, leading it to skid off the road and fall.

The victims were identified as Ghulam Murtaza, Zakheera Bibi and Zubeida Bibi.
