ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) left for China to participate in the Canton Fair 2018 and would later visit Sri Lanka to explore markets and look for investors for joint ventures in Pakistan. “The fair will provide an opportunity to explore new avenues by sharing vision and expertise for formulating future policies, besides promotional efforts,” PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq said in a statement. He said the delegation would also go to Sri Lanka from Shanghai to scout for foreign furniture markets in order to boost exports and seek foreign investment in the local furniture sector. Bilateral trade between Pakistan and China registered a 10% ($4.4 billion) increase in the first three months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of 2017, he said, adding trade increased despite the fact that Pakistani businessmen used only 3.3% of the total tariff lines.
