LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday granted remand for five days to Kasur police of the 17 accused over the charges of making derogatory speeches against higher judiciary and inciting people to violence in a public rally.

The ATC prosecutor Abul Rauf Wattu argued before the court that the accused made derogatory speeches against the judiciary and other state institutions and stated that they are nominated in two different FIRs and two other applications are pending in a police station.

Prosecution also moved another application seeking registration of case against ten other accused and making them part of investigation. The prosecutor stated that as of now ATC sections are included in the FIR so the accused who were exonerated by the local magistrate now should be treated under the Anti-terrorism Act. The court has accepted the application moved by the prosecution. The court after hearing the arguments of the prosecutor also granted remand of the accused for five days.
