The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Faculty Development Academy established by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC). The batch will consist of 115 college instructors from the nine divisions of Punjab.
Higher Education Ministers Raza Ali Gilani will be the chief guest at the event, while Higher Education Department (HED) Secretary Dr Nabeel Awan will be the guest of honour. Other guests include PHEC Chairperson Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin and other officials from HED and PHEC.
The training is part of PHEC’s flagship programme titled Induction Training of College Teachers. In two phases, more than a thousand newly inducted college teachers, including lecturers and assistant professors, will be given training in academic, administrative and financial areas.
In the first phase, around seven to eight batches will be trained while the assistant professors will be trained in the second phase. PHEC will provide the new inductees with residential facilities at the Faculty Development Academy.
