Sajjad Ali's latest track is the perfect balance of emotions

'Lagaya Dil' talks about love, heartbreak and all the baggage that comes along with it

KARACHI: Sajjad Ali's soothing voice always seems to strike the right chords. Giving hits after hits since the 90s, the Har Zulm singer has made a huge name for himself.

Releasing a brand new song titled Lagaya Dil, Sajjad does it again with his magical vocals. In typical Sajjad-style, the song talks about love, heartbreak and all the baggage that comes along with it.

Starting off with Lagaya Dil, Sajjad speaks of unrequited love and how a lover can talk about everything going on in the world but still be unable to confess his admiration. Oh, how this one-sided love takes a toll on you.

Moving on, Sajjad delves into the idea of teenage love. He also mentions that he's not sure if whatever he feels is, in fact, love or childish infatuation.

The track then speaks of confusion - where the lover mistakes love for friendship, leading to tears of heartbreak. It speaks of separation and the harsh reality of the world that does not allow two lovers to cross paths - and the pain that comes with it.

Sajjad also poetically states how it's always the ones close to your heart that hurt you the most and that strangers are mere distractions.

While Sajjad woes listeners with a soft, melodic and meaningful song, the video does full justice to the lyrics as well. Directed by Sajjad's daughter, Zaw Ali, Lagaya Dil tells the story of seven people indirectly connected to each other.
