Saba Qamar-starrer Hindi Medium makes $3.68 million on first day in China



Saba Qamar and Irfan Khan-starrer hit film Hindi Medium opened to a flying start in China, making $3.68 million on its first day. China has a quota on the number of overseas movies that can be screened in the country each year. However, Indian films are finding increased presence there and Hindi Medium is the second biggest Bollywood opener in the country.

Gandhi: The conspiracy to be Om Puri’s last film



Om Puri’s fans can see the last of his acting in an international movie that is yet to release called Gandhi: The conspiracy. The movie is slated to release later this year and the late actor will be playing one of the central roles in it. Producer of the movie, Lakshmi R. Iyer said on working with the actor “Om sir was an actor par excellence and a great human being. Being an old-school actor, he read the script, liked the subject and agreed to be part of it in just two days. It was a blessing to work with him and a great learning experience.”

Salman Khan sentenced for five years in blackbuck hunting case



One of Bollywood’s biggest Khan’s, Salman Khan has been sentenced for five years along with fine as a result of his involvement in blackbuck hunting in 1998. After spending two nights in Jodhpur Central Jail, the star has been granted bail after his bail plea hearing was concluded in the Jodhpur district. With an upwards of INR6 billion tied up in future film projects, Bollywood is practically shuddering at the possibility of Salman Khan serving his prison time.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan call it quits after nine years of marriage



Star couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan recently announced their separation after nine years of marriage. The two met on the sets of 2006 dance movie, ‘Step Up’ and since then gained reputation as one of the hottest couples in Hollywood. The separation was announced on social media via a statement saying “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realising it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.” The couple have a daughter together and speculations are still being made regarding the actual reason behind the split.

Ranveer Singh breaks silence on marriage rumours



After Virushka, the whole world is waiting for Ranveer and Deepika to tie the knot and according to reports, the two are all set to marry end of this year. Ranveer Singh, however, in a recent interview spoke about it and said “It is the function of speculation - to exist. Nothing is official till it is made official and I am not a seer. I cannot say this will happen on this date in the future. Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is any announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops”.

Cinemas reopen after a 35-year ban in Saudi Arabia



After a 35-year ban on cinema, Saudia Arabia has finally reopened their movie theatres across the country. Italia Film, Disney’s Middle East distribution partner, confirmed it will be releasing the Marvel flick Black Panther in Riyadh on April 18. Removal of the ban was announced in December by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salam and at least 40 more cinemas will be built in Saudia Arabia by 2030.
