Rescue 1122 reports 912 accidents

10 people killed, 602 gravely injured in incidents

LAHORE: Rescue 1122 reported approximately 912 road traffic accidents that occurred across all 36 districts of Punjab on Thursday.

At least 10 people were killed while 602 were gravely injured in the accidents. The injured were shifted to various hospitals, while 415 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged after being administered first aid by emergency medical teams.

The data showed that 476 drivers, 17 underage drivers, 136 pedestrians and 415 passengers were involved in the crashes. Statistics also revealed a total of 257 crashes reported in Lahore which affected close to 250 people, putting the provincial capital at the very top of the list for road traffic accidents. In second place was Faisalabad with 73 crashes affecting 87 victims, followed by Multan with 70 crashes affecting 77 individuals.
