A married couple in China, owing to an old photograph, found that they had unknowingly crossed paths 11 years ago, reported Channel News Asia.

Ye and Xue who met in 2011 in Chengdu are married with twin daughters. However, unknowingly they had crossed paths in July 2000 when they both visited the May Fourth Square in the city of Qingdao.

Girl's picture goes viral after sending it to stranger

The discovery was made by Ye as he went through old photographs of his wife from her younger days.

Xue was visiting the square with her mother in June 2000 while Ye was at the square at the exact same time with a tour group. Ye, however, had only ended up going because his mother suffered from appendicitis and asked him to take her place.

As fate would have it, both of them posed for a picture in front of the squares central sculpture. In the background of Xue's picture, Ye can be seen posing for his photograph.

Both went their separate ways and it was only 11 years late in 2011 that they met and fell in love.

“When I saw the photo I was taken by surprise and I got goosebumps all over my body,” Ye said.

Ye then found the picture he took at the monument and shared it on social media.

The tale of their coincidence went viral and their friends say the picture is proof the two were meant to be together. The couple plan on visiting the same spot with their daughters.

“It seems that Qingdao is certainly one of the most special cities,” Ye said. “When the children are older we’ll go to Qingdao again and the family will take another photo.”
