Cradles Of Knowledge: Varsities vital for peace in societies
It is responsibility of youth to nullify the lethal objectives of negative elements
Universities can play vital role in bringing stability in societies and promoting peace, said International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Ahmed Yousif al-Draiweesh. During an interview on Tuesday, al-Draiweesh said that Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative through IIUI was a visible example of promoting peace and stability, while denouncing terrorism and anarchy. Dr al-Draiweesh said that youth are an asset of Muslim world and these young minds are ray of hope. It is responsibility of youth now to nullify the lethal objectives of negative elements by showing positivity in society and promoting Islamic values and peace and for that they must seek guidance from Holy Book in all aspects of life. IIUI president said that negative elements use Islam’s name for dissemination of violent attitudes, while in Islam, there is no place for violence and terrorism, and it’s a religion of peace. IIUI president told that University currently hosts approximately 3,500 students from various Arab, Islamic and international countries, while a large number of Chinese youth is part of these international students as well.Dr al-Draiweesh said the government needs to devise an educational policy with input from intellectuals and academicians.
