Improving infrastructure: New block inaugurated at CVAS

Block comprises of a principal’s office, a library and a student-teacher centre

LAHORE: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha visited the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) where he inaugurated a new state-of-the-art block.

The new block comprises of a principal’s office, a library, an auditorium and a student-teacher centre; all of which are equipped with the latest facilities. Other faculty members were also in attendance including CVAS Prof Abdul Shakoor, Dr Fiaz Qamar and Project Director Shahnawaz Bukhari.

Later, a detailed meeting, presided over by the VC, was held with the CVAS faculty where they discussed different issues relating to teaching and research.

UVAS holds seminar on thalassaemia 

He stressed on the need to conduct public awareness seminars in order to counteract the misinformation about poultry and poultry feed. He also emphasised on the need to widen external institutional linkages within the industry and the provision of outreach services to livestock farmers in the form of diagnostic and therapeutic facilities.

He also directed faculty members to submit research projects, which are key for the development and ranking of any educational institution. The meeting also touched upon co-curricular activities, initiation of new undergraduate degree programmes, civil work and plantation.

The VC agreed to provide his full support in uplifting the veterinary profession and the livestock sector in Pakistan. Moreover, to promote greenery at CVAS, the VC also planted a sapling in front of auditorium.
