Punjab Police pay posthumous salaries till 60

LAHORE: Punjab Police has decided to provide posthumous salary to police officials till the age of 60. A job to a family member would also be awarded according to the decision. Earlier, the privilege was specified for only the families of the martyred police officials/officers. Under the new policy, the salary of the deceased police official would be clubbed with regular increments as other police officials.

Summary of the proposal has been sent to the government of Punjab by the Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan for approval. In this regard, the IGP said the duty of a police official was challenging. They performed duty for 24 hours in unfavourable environment and would contact different diseases. The step would build morale of the force.

Meanwhile, a cheque of Rs1.9 million was handed over to the family of Muhammad Aslam, a traffic constable who died in an accident few days back.
