LAHORE: Former Governor of State Bank Dr Ishrat Husain presented Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif with his book titled Governing the Ungovernable during the book launching ceremony held on Saturday.

Husain praised the chief minister, saying that he managed to improve the system through good governance and by taking measures for the development of the province. He added that his plans for education, health, transport, solid waste management, infrastructure, energy and other sectors were ideal.

Shehbaz congratulated Husain on releasing a book on the challenges our country is facing. He added that participating in the launch was an honor for him and a matter of immense pleasure.

The chief minister maintained that the Punjab government is focused on producing quality human resources, promoting finance and upholding transparency in the province. We can attain our destination if we move forward with firm beliefs, strong determination and hard work, he said.

Shehbaz also expressed deep sense of sorrow over the death of beloved actor, Mutloobur Rehman referred to as Munna Lahori.

Addressing the function, Dr Husain said that Shehbaz has improved the system through his good governance and the measures he have taken for the development of the province are appreciable in fact it can be said that it was the good performance of Shehbaz that brought victory to PML-N in the 2013 elections.

He said that Shehbaz’s plans are ideal for education, health, transport, solid waste management, infrastructure, energy and other sectors and implementation of transparency in the projects worth of billions of dollars are further adding feathers in his cap. Dr Husain said that Shehbaz’s efforts against the corruption are commendable and he is a committed leader as well as reformer who have ensured recruitment of millions of teachers on merit in Punjab while efficiency of institutions has been increased through the information technology.

The event was attended by Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, the Chief Secretary, provincial ministers and others.
