Police offical arrested for 'raping, blackmailing' 15-year-old boy in Haripur

Alleged culprit used video to blackmail him into having sexual relations with his friends

An elite force police official has been arrested on charges of allegedly raping and blackmailing a 15-year-old boy in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Haripur town on Sunday, Express News reported.

The victim, S*, in his recorded statement with the local police, claimed that Shehzad, the alleged culprit, raped him on multiple occasions and also made a video of the act.

Shehzad serves as an official of the elite force and is posted at the Peshawar headquarters.

S* said the video was being used to blackmail him into having sexual relations with the accused and his friends.



Local police said the accused has been arrested after a case was lodged against him.

There has been a surge in cases of child abuse cases highlighted in the media, with the most recent rape and murder of Zainab in Kasur on January 4, causing an outcry triggering mass protests nationwide.
