The protesters wore black arm bands and attempted to block the possible entry of the DG into the authorities HQ. They even locked the backdoor of the building leading to the runway apart from locking the doors of the parking area.
CAA employees, officers form joint action committee
During the protest they also shouted Go-DG-Go around the office of the Additional DG Osaidur Rehman Usmani. They claimed that even the personal staff of the DG had joined the protest and had lost all justifications to continue as the head. They said that the protest has entered a decisive phase and reiterated their demand for the termination of Asim Sulaiman from his office.
Joint Action Committee’s spokesperson said, “The DG is staying in Karachi after his return from Nepal, where he attended a conference on the international aviation and had assured certain people that he will rejoin his office from Monday.”

The spokesperson said that the office bearers of the JAC were assured, in a meeting, with the PM’s adviser on aviation that the DG will not sit-in his office till the issue was resolved. He added that the DG’s announcement was in violation of the agreement reached in that meeting and is compelling the employees to protest.
The protesting employees clarified that they had confined their protest to terminal 1 so that they don’t disrupts the services of the passengers.
Joint Action Committee demanded once again that aviation adviser Sardar MehtabKhan Abbasi terminate Asim Sulaiman and appoint a new DG.
