PML-N still going strong

Letter January 11, 2018
Chakwal by-poll victory is partially still the result of the strong foothold the PML-N has in Punjab

FAISALABAD: Despite some major political setbacks during the past year, the PML-N is still holding its own in Punjab. After winning the by-election in NA-120, the party has once again defeated the candidate of its major political opponent the PTI by winning the Chakwal PP-20 by-election with a sizeable margin. The victory is partially still the result of the strong foothold the PML-N has in Punjab, where its political losses have done little to affect its vote bank negatively. However, given the reduction of the victory margin between the two candidates, a complete flip over of the situation isn’t impossible or unpredictable either.
