Police recover pistol used in the incident

KARACHI: Police booked and arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife inside their house in District West on Monday. Police officials believed that the man killed his wife in the name of honour.

Tehseen, 35, wife of Sattar was found dead inside her house located in the SITE area. Reacting to the information, the local police reached the site and found the victim's body. The police shifted her body to Civil hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The police also claimed to have arrested the victim's husband for his alleged involvement in the murder. SITE A Section SHO Sabir Khattak said that Sattar married the victim seven years ago and it was his second marriage. The couple belonged to the Bajaur Agency, Khattak said, adding that the accused is a labourer by profession, who, according to initial investigations, shot and killed his wife in the name of honour as he had doubts about her character.

The police also claimed to have recovered the pistol used in the incident. The body of the victim was handed over to her family for burial, while a case was registered and further investigation is under way.
