Interior minister says country needs to unite on all fronts for a better democratic system

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday said India responded to Pakistan's goodwill gesture of making Jadhav meet his family by opening fire on the Line of Control (LOC).

Iqbal was speaking at the first executive passport office opening in Quetta where Home Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti was also present. He noted that India is actively using the Afghan soil against Pakistan and heinous incidents like Quetta Church attack are being carried out by non-state actors like such.



"Pakistan believes in humanity and we consider this our strength, not weakness," Iqbal added.

In Jadhav's case as well Pakistan ensured that the family meets on humanitarian grounds and it was responded with an attack by India, he lamented.

Interior Minister clearly stated that no country can defend itself without having a strong economy and we have to ensure China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)'s security at all costs. In addition to that, he said the country can further prosper if there's proper investment in the energy sector. "There has been no adequate investment in the energy sector for the past fifteen years," he noted.

The country needs to unite on all fronts and that is how the democratic situation will flourish. PML-N does not follow NRO's like the PPP, he said.



"Tahirul Qadri must discontinue the practice of sit-ins and should call an All Parties Conference (APC) to discuss matters of importance."

Ahsan Iqbal said the parliament will complete its tenure and this would be the second time in the history of nation and this restores faith in democracy.

He also commended the efforts of government in bettering the infrastructure of Balochistan and said around 40 dam projects have been approved so far and there has been a massive improvement in the transportation and security too as people can fearlessly travel now.
