The treasury benches applauded the role of army chief whose briefing to senators proved that the heads of all institutions are answerable to the elected government.
Answering the queries of parliamentarians was a good tradition, said PML-N Legislator Hina Pervez Butt through her resolution which she submitted in the Punjab Assembly.
She said that there were good and strong relations between the democratic government and armed forces. She added that the House believed that Pakistan’s future is bright. She emphasised all the institutions for their contribution through resolving issues together. She feared that some perpetrators and anti-state forces wished to damage civil military relations.
On the other hand, the army chief appeared before the elected parliament and responded their queries proving that all the heads of the institutions are answerable to the elected government. She claimed that the army chief also gave a message that all were on a single page and united in maintaining peace in the country.
She said the House applauded the step taken by Bajwa as well as his professional conduct to cooperate with the democratic institutions.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Butt said that the appearance of the army chief in parliament was the clear proof that the rulers as well as the heads of institutions were united to foil every move by conspirators and anti-state forces who wanted to derail Pakistan.
She said that a lot of misconceptions were removed relating to the backing of the armed forces to Faizabad sit-in but the army chief made clear that he will tender his resignation if proved the army backed Khadim Rizvi’s sit-in.
She said that a lot of confusion was amongst the parliamentarians which was removed by the answers of the army chief.
