Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal presided over the meeting. The meeting reviewed 848 development schemes, of which 75 were from constituency NA-183, 120 schemes of NA-184, 68 schemes of NA-185 and 20 schemes of PP-276.
The participants were informed that 359 schemes had been completed while work on 489 projects was underway.

On the occasion, the deputy commissioner directed the officers concerned to ensure timely completion of schemes and said compromise will not be made on quality of work.
The government had allocated at least Rs78.6 billion that will be spent on 781 development projects in Bahawalpur division as part of Annual Development Programme 2017-18.
Earlier, additional commissioner reviewed 557 new and 224 existing schemes. The additional commissioner also reviewed public health engineering department’s 157 schemes, school education’s 54 new and three old schemes, 13 projects of higher education, 49 schemes of Cholistan Development Authority, 13 projects of health department, six schemes of forest department and others.
Rs78.6b to be spent on 781 projects in Bahawalpur
Funds worth Rs4.12 billion were approved for 76 ongoing development schemes while Rs676 million were allocated for 13 new projects under the Annual Development Programme.
Of the amount, Rs450 million were earmarked for 14 on-going schemes of higher education department, while three new projects would also commence with a cost of Rs85 million. Regarding special education schemes, Rs85 million were allocated for three projects that were underway.
