According to a statement, CPNE President Zia Shahid and General Secretary Ejazul Haq expressed serious concerns over the order, and demanded that the government should immediately restore the broadcast.
They noted that the suspension of broadcast was curbing the citizens’ right to information, and was also causing confusion and panic among the masses.
The government called out the army in Islamabad after deadly violence broke out when police moved to dislodge the protesting Tehreek-e-Labbaik activists at the Faizabad Interchange.
At least six people were killed and over 200 injured when police moved in to disperse the demonstration, sparking fierce clashes.
