The issue of quality assurance has not remained limited to factories, campuses too are regarded as producing some sort of product that should comply with some degree of quality.
In this regard, Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar administration has decided to hold an International Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education on December 18 and 19.
The decision came during a meeting held under the chairmanship of KMU Vice Chancellor Dr Arshad Javaid.
KMU Registrar Saleem Gandapur, Director Quality Assurance Dr Jamil Ahmed, Director Finance Tauqeer Ahmed, Controller of Examination Dr Muhammad Bakhtiar, heads of various constituent institutes, administrative officers of various sections and faculty members attended the meeting.
KMU Deputy Director Asiya Bukhari told the meeting that this will be the first international conference on educational quality assurance in the province in which participants from across the country will participate. Besides, scholars of national stature, speakers from the US, UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the Philippine will also present their papers on improving quality of learning experience at higher educational institutes.
She said management of Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs) and faculty of higher education institutions along with members of accreditation councils and representatives of quality assurance agencies will participate in the conference.
Bukhari said that invitation letters have already dispatched to all public and private varsities of the country. She said the objective of the conference is to provide a platform to the QEC managers, faculty members and people concerned to contribute towards quality education.
Earlier, speaking at the meeting VC Javaid hoped that this activity will provide a broader platform to all the members and managers of QEC’s of various universities to interact with each other.
The huddle will also provide an opportunity to the participants to sit together under one roof and to share their experiences and achievements.
