ABBOTTABAD: The top police official of the Hazara range has ordered a massive crackdown against drug trafficking in the division.

There will be zero tolerance against the narcotics sellers, Hazara Range Regional Police Officer (RPO) Saeed Wazir said chairing the monthly law and order and crimes review meeting of district police officers (DPOs).

He asked all the DPO’s in Hazara range to speed up the crackdown against the drug peddlers and suppliers.

Nevertheless, the top cop also cautioned against abuse of power. “Police should take special care while booking alleged drug suppliers. No citizen should be arrested in fake cases,” Wazir said.

He also directed the force to assist security agencies in search and strike operations under National Action Plan.

During the meeting DPO’s of the seven districts of the Hazara division submitted their progress reports which were considered satisfactory. The meeting noticed that crime rate declined, particularly the murder cases.
