KARACHI: Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday called for bringing the agricultural income of big landlords under the tax net instead of levying the reformed general sales tax (RGST).

He also supported the demand for more provinces, according to a press statement. He said this while talking to reporters at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero after holding talks with members of the party’s coordination committee. He said that the country is beset by multiple challenges including a sluggish economy. The political forces that want economic stability and progress should stand united. He said the MQM and Altaf Hussain have made a right decision to come to Punjab, which would help strengthen the federation. Deputy convener Dr Farooq Sattar thanked Qureshi for visiting Nine Zero.
