Imran reiterates call for early elections

Criticises CM Punjab for not handling smog issue

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan called for early elections to eradicate corruption from Pakistan.

Imran, flanked by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen, spoke to the media after attending a public gathering in Upper Chitral.

He said early elections are called when doubts arise over a government's mandate, hence it is not against democracy

He criticised Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) government, saying that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to London, trying to convince his brother to let him run the party while the people of his province suffered from smog. "We need to think about the affects of smog on our crops, agriculture and most importantly on health."



He added that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also busy attending to party leader, Nawaz Sharif, in London.

When asked to comment on Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan and Pak Sarzameen Party alliance, Imran said he did not see a conspiracy but assumes that both the parties feel they cannot get mandate on their own.
