This was said in a meeting which was held to review the Annual Development Program 2017-18 at Commissioner Office Bahawalpur. The meeting was presided over by Bahawalpur Divison Commissioner Saqib Zafar.
The meeting was told that Rs450 million were earmarked for 14 on-going schemes of higher education department, while three new projects would also be started with a cost of Rs85 million.
Regarding special education schemes, the meeting was briefed that Rs85 million were allocated for three projects that were underway.

Officials said five sports projects would cost Rs102 million, while Rs205 million had been allocated for two schemes of health department. Besides, an amount of Rs358 million had been earmarked for development schemes of jails in the district.
For judiciary department, Rs576 million were approved for three ongoing schemes, while Rs53 million for eight new schemes.
The officials maintained that Rs442 million had been allocated for 13 ongoing schemes of police department and Rs34 million for six new projects.

In addition, an amount of Rs1.51 billion had been allocated for 36 projects of buildings department, while Rs92 million had been earmarked for three projects of wildlife department.
The government also allocated Rs248 million for two schemes of food department.
The commissioner directed the officers concerned to ensure quality in development work of the projects and make efforts to complete the schemes on time.
