The Punjab Human Organ Transplant Authority arrested two, including a doctor, involved in the racket in Township area.
Dr Abid and a manager of a local hospital were taken into custody during the raid while remaining staff managed to escape from the scene. The authority believes illegal organ transplant ring made up of 15 men.
It was revealed during the initial investigation that suspects created 10 escape routes through operation theaters as contingency plans for police raid.

Apparently, the country has long been an international hub for the illegal kidney trade, but medical and local authorities complain they have been unable to act against the practice, frustrated by ineffective enforcement policies and what they perceive as a lack of political will to crack down.
Organ donation is legal for so long in the country as it is voluntary given without duress or the exchange of money. Local clerics have ruled it Islamic, but a lack of awareness and the pervasive belief that it is taboo for Muslims mean there is a shortage of those willing to donate.
