Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's documentary A Girl in the River wins the Best Documentary awards at the 38th annual news and documentary Emmy Awards.

Two Pakistani documentaries nominated for Emmys

The ceremony took place in New York. Sharmeen took to Twitter to recently announce the award.

A Girl in the River is the story of a young survivor of honour killing.

The documentary, A Girl in the River has grabbed three nominations in categories Best Documentary, Outstanding Short Documentary and Outstanding Music and Sound.
