The talented actor did all that he could to really get into the character of Alauddin Khilji – a cruel, menacing villain-hero. He explored such hidden depths of negativity that he actually had to see a psychiatrist to get back to his normal self.

Deepika Padukone looked every inch a reigning empress as she donned a red saree. Around 200 craftsmen worked for 600 days to create some of the most iconic pieces that will be showcased in the movie. Each piece of jewellery worn in the movie plays a significant role in some of the most crucial scenes.
