TORGHAR: After two years, the Torghar District Council on Thursday approved budgets for 2017-18 and 2016-17.

The council approved outlay of Rs164.36 million for 2017-18 and Rs223 million for 2016-17.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Syed Nawab Gul who was also the convener of the session while district Nazim Dilroz Khan presented the budget for 2017-18.

According to the budget, the expected income for the year 2017-18 was revised downwards to Rs90.6 million.

Out of total tax and non-tax receipts, the district council allocated 20 per cent amount for education, 10 per cent for health and 15 per cent for youth support, social welfare and agriculture.

The council unanimously approved 55 per cent of the budget for the discretion of the district council.
