PU awards four PhDs

Degrees were awarded in the fields of computer sciences, Islamic studies, biological sciences and Urdu

LAHORE: Punjab University on Friday awarded PhD degrees to four scholars. Laeeq Aslam, in the subject of computer science, after approval of his thesis titled “Cycle discrepancy of graphs” and Muhammad Zaid Lakhvi, in the subject of Islamic studies and thesis titled “The comparison between the ignorant period (pre-Islamic) and the present time in war ethics” were awarded PhD degree.

Also, Tahira Bibi, in the subject of biological sciences with her thesis on “Thermostable kinases from pyrobaculum calidifontis: cloning and characterisation” and Arifa Batool in the subject of Urdu after the approval of her thesis “Jadeed Urdu Nazm Mein Tassawar-e-Insan” were awarded doctorate degrees.

Meanwhile, Punjab University College of Art and Design organised a poster and painting competition in connection with Defence Day. PU Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasar inaugurated the exhibition.
