Yet another petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court against its July 28 verdict of disqualifying former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from office in the Panama Papers case.

According to Express News, legal expert AK Dogar has submitted the petition in the Lahore registry of the Supreme Court and named Nawaz, his two sons, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and the National Accountability Bureau as parties to the case.

Dogar has argued that under Article 183(3), Nawaz was not granted the right to appeal the Supreme Court’s verdict.

Sharif family’s review petitions thrown out

“The article is in conflict with Islamic law,” he stated. “Nawaz Sharif should be granted the right to appeal because it is a legal and constitutional right.”

It should be noted, however, that Sharif family's review petition has already been rejected by the top court.

NA-120, the seat that was vacated with Nawaz's ouster was recently won by his wife Kulsoom Nawaz, who is undergoing cancer treatment in London.
