G-B to have ‘village guest houses’

G-B government is endeavoring to further develop tourism

GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Minister for Tourism Fida Khan Fida said on Monday that the provincial tourism department will soon sign a Memorandum of understanding with investors for establishing three five-star hotels in the province. He also informed of a project of village guests houses being under consideration to further boost tourism in the region. Under the plan, Rs0.5 million will be allocated for upgrading each existing village guest house, Fida said, while Rs0.7 million per unit will be earmarked for construction of new guest houses. He said the G-B government was endeavoring to further develop tourism by establishing information centers at all entry points, Islamabad Airport and districts of the province for offering information to tourists about visit worthy places of the region.
