‘Ensure sale at prescribed prices’

DC says price lists should be displayed at shops so that customers do not face any difficulty

BAHAWALPUR: Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal directed the price control magistrates to ensure the sale of daily household items on the prescribed prices and check the price lists on the shops regularly.

He expressed these remarks while addressing the meeting of district price control committee. At this time assistant commissioners from all over the district, Anjuman-e-Tajraan President Khursheed Nazir, Enterprise Deputy Director Parvez Fahim Bukhari and officials from departments concerned were present.



Deputy commissioner said that price lists should be displayed on the shops of prominent places so that customers would not have to face any difficulty while purchasing.



He added that strict action should be taken against the people hoarding and adulterating the products.



In the meeting, prices of the daily household items were reviewed which included rice (Basmati) Rs108 per kilogramme, rice (Ari) Rs38 per kilogramme, Daal Maash Rs138 per kilogramme, Daal Masoor Rs74 per kilogramme, Daal Moong Rs80 per kilogramme were set.

Similarly, white gram Rs134 per kilogramme, gram flour Rs105 per kilogramme, red chilli powder Rs177 per kilogramme, Sooji Rs42 per kilogramme, ice Rs10 per kilogramme, mutton Rs580 per kilogramme, beef Rs280 per kilogramme, milk Rs65 per liter, yogurt Rs70 per kilogramme were set.
