Police inaugurates intelligence-sharing wing

LAHORE: In order to intelligence gathering and promote community policing, Lahore Police have established the Triple One Intelligence wing.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains inaugurated the wing at his office on Tuesday. The main thread of the wing is an android-based software application - Triple One. For intelligence gathering, the CCPO directed every police official and officer to share information about terrorists or anti-social elements every month.

Speaking on the occasion, Wains said that the aim of the app was to improve the intelligence system of police and promote community policing. “We are in a state of war and it cannot be won without the cooperation of the public.” He added the application was developed so that police officials and the public could share information with officers directly and in confidence.
