After months of speculation regarding the iPhone 8, we finally have gotten some credible information about the upcoming device.

The latest trove of information includes a leaked image of the device along with a pre-release HomePod firmware that was uploaded to a public server last week.

The information, which was supposed to be disseminated internally only, was mistakenly uploaded by an Apple employee.

Apple to launch watches that can make calls

Developer Guilherme Rambo found an icon representing the iPhone 8 referring to the device with the code name 'D22' along with details about the bezel-less design.

The information, which was supposed to be disseminated internally only, was mistakenly uploaded by an Apple employee.

The image also appears to confirm earlier reports that Apple will do away with the physical home button.

Apart from this, developers were also being able to decipher details about the Samsung like infrared face-unlock feature codenamed -- Pearl ID.

Notably, it also seems the phone will be able to record video in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, up from 30 fps on the iPhone 7 Plus. Further, the next iPhone will probably have a SmartCam feature that will auto tune camera settings based on the scene it detects.

Later on August 8, the ever reliable iPhone leaker Evan Blass also tweeted an image of what an encased iPhone 8 would look like. The image is in line with the accidental leak of Apple’s anniversary edition iPhone.

The wait is almost over as the iPhone is expected to launch in the next two months, but for now, we know this for sure that Apple is making a host of new changes.
