KARACHI: Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo has said that a conspiracy is being hatched against Pakistan in the name of Panama case.
“No one – including judges and generals – are sacred cows,” he said while addressing a press conference on Sunday.
Bizenjo, who belongs to National Party of Pakistan, warned political leaders of Pakistan to avoid creating a fuss over the Panamagate issue, which would weaken the country.
“Controversy has been created on this issue. It looks like the Joint Investigation Team is probing criminals and not political leaders,” he said, adding that the prime minister and his family have the right to challenge the JIT report in the apex court.
“It is nothing except ill-intention to defame prime minister and his family,” the federal minister said.
Referring to hours-long investigation of Sharif family members, he said, “Hussain Nawaz remained under investigation for about 24 hours. This is injustice.”
“Why only politicians are being blamed for corruption? Please stop playing with this country,” he said, adding that millions of people of Pakistan have reposed their trust in the prime minister, who should complete his five-year terms.
“Some elements are trying to rollback the 18th Amendment, but we will not allow them undo this extraordinary law,” he said.
The minister diverted the media’s attention towards multi-billion rupees road sector projects and challenged the conspirators to pinpoint any corruption in them.
