Regarding the current political situation, the chief minister said that vested interests were trying to derail democracy which would be resisted and foiled with the support of the public.
He termed revenge, negative politics and anti-democratic behaviours harmful for the country. “Political opponent always establish roadblocks in the way of the PML-N government whenever it comes to power,” he said.

Zehri said that the prime minister’s name was not even mentioned in the Panama papers, but the political opponents made a big issue out of it to create problems for the government.
He said that the colleagues and family members of the prime minister were appearing before the JIT as the prime minister firmly believed in the rule of law to strengthen democratic institutions.
The chief minister accused the opposition parties of being involved in the politics of instability and anarchy. Since the opponents had foreseen their defeat in the next general election, they were creating hurdles in the way of the PML-N government.

He predicted that the PML-N would emerge victorious in the next general election, forming governments at the Centre and in all the provinces. He said PM Sharif tolerated the ‘undue’ criticism just for the sake of democracy, and his opponents would be rejected in the next election.
The chief minister, however, saw no threat to democracy for democratic institutions. He said the government would complete its tenure and return to power in the future as well with the support of the people.
